TASHA | fine art
My current body of paintings consists of a series of figurative works that explore child-like allegory. While my technique and rendering are that of classical figure painting, my subject matter and the elements engaged with them, are other-worldly, dream-like, and futuristic in nature. Through this mixing of old and new visual syntax, it is my aim to take the work out of the specifically temporal and into a dialog cast in the realm of the
universal, timeless nature of human existence.
My encaustic and abstract works are more of playing with materials, color and design. They are my "break" from the more intricate portrait paintings. Though visually and technically they are 180 degrees different than my figurative works, the process of child-like imagination, experimentation, and daydreaming are the connections between the two bodies of work.
